Pankaj is an award-winning veteran equity analyst who specialized in Oil & Gas and Power Utilities sectors. Early in his career, he realized the importance of governance and environmental factors in emerging markets. This led to his growing interest in sustainability issues and relevance of ESG in investment decisions. Pankaj is a published author who has written extensively on ESG issues and emerging markets policies. Prior to founding EMAlpha, he was involved in various ESG focused projects in emerging markets with multiple stakeholders including stock exchanges, market regulators, institutional asset managers, and the companies.

Pankaj has won the Thomson Reuters StarMine Research award, Asia Money Best Analyst award, and has ranked highly in multiple Institutional Investor polls. He has worked at several investment banks such as J.P. Morgan, Citigroup, and UBS. Pankaj also served as the Head of Business at the boutique Institutional Equities firm Equirus Capital. Pankaj has an MBA from Faculty of Management Studies, University of Delhi, and a Bachelor in Technology from Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur.
